The Kaleidoscope gives you a unique opportunity to turn into a completely different person for a couple of hours. Form alliances, communicate with others, maybe betray someone.
It’s all up to you!

How to play

Your character

Review your background, objectives, limitations, and vocabulary. Understand your character’s motivations and relationships with others. When the game begins, introduce yourself to the group as your character.
Explore

Reach out to the characters suggested in your “Where to Start” section. Ask questions, share your perspective, and listen actively to others. Early conversations will help you form alliances, and clarify your strategy.
Stay true to your character

Make decisions and interact with others based on your character’s goals, values, and limitations. Use your suggested vocabulary and cues to enrich the role-play.
Be Flexible

The situation is evolving, and new information may come to light. Be ready to adapt your approach, negotiate, and respond to unexpected challenges.
Respect the Flow of the Game

Give everyone a chance to speak and contribute. If you’re unsure how to proceed, refer to your Role Card (RC) or ask the Game Master for guidance.
Remember the big picture

Your choices can influence not only your own fate but also the future of the entire community. Think about the ethical, social and practical consequences of your actions.

I've never thought a teacher can make English class THAT fun! I was impressed how well thought out the game was and how complicated and time consuming the preparation was.

The game was so interesting and captivating! Actually when I ticked the point in the form that I wanted to be an evil character, I thought it wouldn't necessary be followed. But in fact, I really was this character and I liked that! I felt excitement in the game!

So, I'm grateful to Aida Sergeevna for this (without exaggeration) unforgettable class! I mean it, I still keep discussing it with friends😁.

I’m especially grateful for the opportunity to engage with peers I had previously only exchanged greetings with. From the very moment Professor Aïda Sergeevna began explaining our roles, my excitement soared—I could feel the energy in the room building. Playing the role of the KMC Curator was both an honor and a thrilling responsibility. I became so absorbed in the character that I genuinely felt I was fighting to save the KMC in reality! 😀Though there were a few initial uncertainties, our teamwork and collective spirit led us to triumph as a united community🫢. This was far more than just a role-play—it was a masterful exercise in collaboration.
